Transfer Talk: Partey Leaves, Arsenal Eyes Yet Another Defender, Chelsea Complete Pedro & Gittens Deals for 110m, Barca & Nico Keep Dancing

As you well know, not all clubs were lucky enough to book a place in the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup tournament in the USA (I didn’t mention any particular Spanish club’s name), and for these clubs, the focus is on reinforcing their teams (unless of course you’re Chelsea).

In this article, we take a look at all the hottest transfer news regarding all your favourite clubs, including the likes of Arsenal, Barca, and Chelsea.

Arsenal's Game Results Stats with and without Thomas Partey

🛡️ Partey Departs, as Arsenal Sign 31-year-old; Defender Next:

Thomas Partey has officially left Arsenal after five seasons, with his contract expiring on June 30 2025. The Ghanaian midfielder, a key figure with 167 appearances, exits as a free agent, prompting the club to pursue reinforcements.

Arsenal are close to securing two midfield additions: Christian Nørgaard from Brentford (£11–15 m) and Martín Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, who will form a fresh midfield partnership.

Arsenal Target, Mosquera

Meanwhile, they’re in talks with Valencia for Cristhian Mosquera, a 21-year-old centre-back, to shore up their defensive options.

🔰 New Arsenal Defender on the Radar:

Arsenal are pushing to conclude a deal for Cristhian Mosquera, aiming to strengthen their centre-back depth behind Saliba and Magalhães.

Valencia rejected their initial £16 m bid, but negotiations are ongoing. This signing signals a shift towards youth and versatility, preparing for a post‑Partey rebuild.

Joao Pedro, Chelsea New Signing

⚔️ Chelsea Blitz: Pedro, Gittens & More for €110m:

Chelsea have entered the transfer splurge with a blockbuster fee spent on João Pedro (from Brighton, €55–60m) and Jamie Gittens (from Dortmund, €55m), totalling an estimated €110–115m.

Both are signed to long‑term deals (eight and seven years), with Pedro already registered for the Club World Cup squad and Gittens pending, given that his current club, Dortmund, are still in the competition.

Despite this massive investment, Chelsea aren’t done—they’re also exploring centre-back reinforcements and potential winger exits like Noni Madueke to balance the squad.

💃Barca & Nico Williams: Continued Transfer Saga:

Barcelona have been in the headlines again for a signing that has gone from what is supposed to be a routine signing to a potentially long, winding, and controversial saga.

Nico Williams, Celebrates a goal for Spain

Barca, reportedly interested in signing young Spanish winger, Nico Williams, have been accused by the player’s current side, Athletic Bilbao, that they are forcing a signing even when they don’t have the financial room to not only pay his buy-out clause but also register the player under La Liga’s regulations.

There’s no telling when or if this saga will be over in time before the season begins in August, but one thing is for sure, this one will be a long one, just like a certain Man United and a certain Brentford winger.
