Galatasaray vs Liverpool Prediction, Lineups, Betting Tips & Odds | UEFA Champions League 2025–26

RAMS Park at night is one of the loudest, most intimidating atmospheres in European football. Liverpool already know that Galatasaray beat them here in September, and they will not have forgotten it.

But that was the league phase. This is the knockout round. The stakes are completely different, and so is Liverpool. They have won three straight Champions League games, kept clean sheets in every one of them, and are averaging two and a half goals per European match. Galatasaray, meanwhile, have won just once in their last six Champions League games and are conceding 1.6 goals per match in the competition.

There is one more thing worth noting. Galatasaray will play the second leg at Anfield with no supporters in the away end after crowd disturbances against Juventus. That makes Tuesday's result even more critical for the Turkish side, they cannot afford to go to Merseyside chasing the game in an empty away section.

Galatasaray vs Liverpool: Key Stats

  • Head-to-head: Liverpool 1 win, Galatasaray 3 wins, 2 draws from last 6 meetings

  • Galatasaray: Won 1 of their last 6 Champions League matches

  • Galatasaray: Conceding an average of 1.60 goals per Champions League game

  • Galatasaray: Scoring an average of 2.00 goals in home Champions League games

Liverpool: Won their last 3 Champions League matches

  • Liverpool: Kept clean sheets in all 3 of those wins

  • Liverpool: Averaging 2.50 goals per Champions League game

  • Liverpool: Conceded just twice in four away Champions League fixtures this season

What to Expect

Galatasaray will be physical, aggressive and loud from the first whistle. Buruk has already said he wants a side capable of disrupting Liverpool's rhythm and Victor Osimhen is the perfect weapon for that — powerful, relentless and capable of scoring against anyone on his day. Noa Lang and Baris Yilmaz will provide pace around him while Torreira and Lemina try to suffocate Liverpool in midfield. The crowd will be extraordinary. They beat Liverpool here once already this season and they know they can do it again. But their Champions League form away from the atmosphere of RAMS Park has been poor — and even at home, they have been leaking goals all competition.

Liverpool will not be rattled by the noise. Slot has built a team that travels exceptionally well in Europe — nine goals scored and just two conceded in four away Champions League games is a remarkable record. Without Isak, Ekitike leads the line and Wirtz shifted wide creates a fascinating attacking combination with Salah on the opposite flank and Szoboszlai driving from ten. The defensive record in Europe this season is the most important number — three consecutive clean sheets tells you this is a team that is organised, disciplined and very hard to break down when it matters most.

Predicted Lineups

Galatasaray (4-2-3-1) 🟡🔴 Cakir; Sallai, Sanchez, Bardakci, Jakobs; Torreira, Lemina; Yilmaz, Akgun, Lang; Osimhen

Liverpool (4-2-3-1) 🔴 Alisson; Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Ekitike

Players and Matchups to Watch

Victor Osimhen — The most dangerous player on the pitch in a one-on-one situation. If Galatasaray are going to hurt Liverpool, it almost certainly starts and ends with him. Van Dijk and Konate will need to be at their absolute best.

Noa Lang — Creative, unpredictable and capable of the unexpected. He gives Galatasaray a different dimension going forward and will look to exploit the spaces behind Frimpong on Liverpool's right.

Mohamed Salah — Still the most consistent match-winner in European football when Liverpool need him. Jakobs at left back will have one of the toughest evenings of his season keeping Salah quiet.

Florian Wirtz — The German is Liverpool's most technically gifted player and operating as a wide forward gives him the freedom to drift inside and create overloads. Galatasaray's right side will struggle to contain him.

Odds Market on MSport

💵 Galatasaray to win: 4.21

💵 Liverpool to win: 1.84

💵 Draw: 4.59

💵 Over 2.5 Goals: 1.54

💵 Both Teams to Score (GG): 1.54

The data points firmly towards Liverpool. Three consecutive Champions League clean sheets, nine away goals in Europe this season, and an opponent who has won just once in six Champions League games and cannot keep a clean sheet at home. Galatasaray's home atmosphere and Osimhen's individual quality gives them a goal — their home European scoring average demands respect. But Liverpool's away discipline in this competition has been exceptional all season and their attacking quality through Salah, Wirtz and Szoboszlai should be enough to take a valuable first leg lead back to Anfield.

Prediction: Galatasaray 1–2 Liverpool
