The 2025 summer transfer market is still open, and clubs are signing the players they need to improve their squads, some expensive, some cheap.
In this article, we take a look at the players that could be more on the cheap side because they’ve been labelled “rejected goods” by their current clubs.
🇦🇷 Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United) | 21 yrs | Arg | Transfer Value: €40m:
Alejandro Garnacho may be just 21, but he’s already made a name for himself with some dazzling moments for English giants Manchester United. Last season, he made 58 appearances for Manchester United, scoring 11 goals and assisting 10.
The Argentine is known for his Puskas award-winning stunning bicycle kick against Everton in the EPL that also won the Premier League Goal of the Season.
Despite his raw talent and flashes of brilliance, United’s inconsistency has seen Garnacho’s form tank a bit, linking him with an exit this season.
🇸🇳 Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea) | 24 yrs | Sen | Transfer Value: €50m:
Jackson netted 14 Premier League goals in his mixed debut campaign at Chelsea after arriving from Villarreal, but he also missed several big chances, leading many to question his composure.
Last season, he clocked 13 goals and 6 assists in the 37 games he played for the Blues. Considering Chelsea’s constant reshuffling and his disciplinary troubles, the Senegalese’s time at Stamford Bridge could end as soon as this season.
🇮🇹 Federico Chiesa (Juventus) | 27 yrs | Ita | Transfer Value: €14m:
Chiesa, in his last season with Juventus, played 37 games for Juventus last season, netting 10 goals and 3 assists in all competitions. But injuries and a dip in form meant he left for Liverpool only to face the same demons.
Same problems stalled what was once a meteoric rise, especially after his Euro 2020 heroics, leaving the Italian with only 4 goals and assists in the 14 appearances he made for them.
Now, he has to turn his attention elsewhere, with his time in England coming to an abrupt end.
🏴 Jack Grealish (Manchester City) | 29 yrs | Eng | Transfer Value: €28m:
Once the most expensive British footballer, Grealish’s stock has dipped significantly. He featured in 32 matches last season but managed just 3 goals and 5 assists — a significant drop from his Aston Villa days.
With Omar Marmoush and Jeremy Doku pushing him out of the starting XI, Pep and City are ready to let him go. For clubs needing guile and ball retention, he still brings value.
🇫🇷 Christopher Nkunku (Chelsea) | 27 yrs | Fra | Transfer Value: €35m:
Nkunku arrived at Chelsea with major hype but endured a season ravaged by injury. He made only 11 appearances, scoring 3 goals in his first season. Nkunku’s second season with the Blues was much better, with the French forward netting 15 goals and providing 5 assists in the 48 games he played.
When fit, he’s an intelligent forward who can link play and finish with either foot. But availability is his biggest obstacle. For clubs willing to gamble, he’s a high-ceiling option.
🇷🇸 Dušan Vlahović (Juventus) | 25 yrs | Ser | Transfer Value: €35m:
Vlahović scored 17 goals and 5 assists in his 44 games across all competitions last season. Yet, he continues to be linked with a move away, as Juventus eye a more fluid front line.
He’s a classic No. 9 with lethal finishing — and in a team that plays to his strengths, he could be a 25+ goal striker.
